    . . . So we stayed present. We breathed. We looked out hospital windows and appreciated the beautiful sunset or sunrise, depending on what time of day or night a particular procedure was happening. We did a LOT of art projects. Friends came to visit in the hospital and we decorated Avery's IV pole with chains of paper flowers.
